Dear St. David Community,

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board, St. David CSS and District 8 Athletic Association are happy to announce the return of its inter-school athletics.
Active participation in athletics has known health benefits, including physical fitness and mental wellness.
Although it may not be exactly how it was prior to the pandemic, we hope that students and parents will appreciate the opportunity to return to athletics.

Today, in school, students were invited to pre-register for sports using a QR code.
Students can still pre-register over the weekend by checking St. David social media (Twitter and Instagram).

As the pandemic continues, it is the responsibility of each of us to take reasonable steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect all individuals who participate in our athletic activities.
The WCDSB and District 8 will be implementing every strategy within our ability and as recommended by Public Health to keep our student-athletes, teacher-coaches, officials and public safe.

In order to offer the safest possible option for a return to sport, all student-athletes and teacher-coaches who wish to participate in inter-school athletics must show proof of full immunization against COVID-19 (two doses plus 14-day waiting period) OR provide negative rapid antigen test results to their school twice per week.
Proof of vaccination can be obtained via the Ontario Health website https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca.

Beginning Monday, student-athletes are invited to come to the cafeteria during the following dates & times to voluntarily share their immunization status (fully vaccinated or not fully vaccinated) with designated School Staff.

Monday, September 20th
7:30am-8:10am (before school)
10:45am-11:25am (during lunch)
1:55pm-3:00pm (after school)

Tuesday, September 21st
7:30am-8:10am (before school)
10:45am-11:25am (during lunch)
1:55pm-3:00pm (after school)

Upon sharing this information, students will receive a permission form that must be completed and returned to the school prior to participation in tryouts and practices.

Thank you for your attention to these important protocols, and we look forward to a safe and enjoyable return to competition.
