Grade 9 & 10 Meet the Teacher Night
Grade 9 and 10 Parents/Guardians, you are cordially invited to attend an information session Tuesday, September 17th. This will be an opportunity for your child to introduce their teachers to you. During the evening, you will be able to accompany your child to their regularly scheduled classes and experience their routine through a simulated timetable. If you are planning to attend without your child, please ensure they provide you with a copy of their timetable. We will run a shortened Semester 1 schedule for the evening.
During this evening, you will be provided with information regarding:
- Course expectations pertaining to homework, assignments and reporting;
- Expectations pertaining to learning skills;
- How to contact your child’s teacher should you have any concerns through the semester;
- How you can support your teenager’s Learning at home.
SEPTEMBER 17th MEET THE TEACHER SCHEDULE
Self-Guided Tour: 6:00 pm – 6:25 pm
Parents and students tour the school
Welcome in the Cafeteria: 6:30 pm – 6:40 pm
Chaplain – prayer and welcome
Principal – welcome
Class Schedule: 6:50 pm – 8:00 pm
Parents/students will follow the student’s class schedule and attend each class for 10 minutes
Period 1 Course Classroom 6:50 pm – 7:00 pm
Period 2 Course Classroom 7:05 pm – 7:15 pm
Period 3 Course Classroom 7:20 pm – 7:30 pm
Period 4 Course Classroom 7:35 pm – 7:45 pm
The intent of this evening is to strengthen the Learning Partnership between students, parents and staff. This event is designed to increase Student Success holistically and therefore, is not an evening of formalized interviews with teachers regarding specific academic achievement to date.
Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on the afternoon and evening of Thursday, October 24th.

Used Uniform Sale – ALL WELCOME
The St. David Catholic School Advisory Council is holding a Used Uniform Sale during Grade 9 and 10 Meet the Teacher Night Tuesday September 17 at 5:30pm – 7:45pm in the St. David library.
There will be clean, gently used uniform items in a variety of sized are available $10 per item, cash only.
Proceeds from used uniform sales are used by Catholic School Advisory Council (Parent Council) to support student initiatives.

Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) (previously referred to as ‘School Council’)
All parents/guardians of our students are welcome to attend Catholic School Advisory Council meetings.
This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the future direction of the school and/or participate in the many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Our first meeting is September 24th, at 6:00 p.m. in the St. David Library.
Future meeting dates will be set during the first meeting and will be posted on the school website.
If you wish to be a member of the 2019-2020 school council, please complete the nomination form.
Grade 12’s and Post Secondary Options
All grade 12 classes are scheduled to attend a pathway options information session on Monday September 16th during period 3 in the Lecture Hall. Grade 12 students on spare during period 3 should plan to attend.
WCDSB “Called to Belong” Twilight Retreat Opportunity for Parents/Guardian
Our Board’s theme for this year is: Called to Belong! The experience will be facilitated by Fr. Joseph de Viveiros, C.R., the Spiritual Animator for the Board. Come and discover more about the spiritual journey upon which our staff and students have embarked. All are welcome to come and learn and pray around the awesome mystery of God’s universal love!
